چکیده

The preovulatory follicles of the mature domestic birds are arranged in a distinct hierarchical order in the ovary. Presumably all preovulatory follicles are exposed to a daily surge of luteinizing hormone (LH), but only the largest follicle (F1) ovulates each day. This has been explained by the ability of progesterone synthesis of F1 in response to LH. In fact, progesterone contents in the follicle wall of F1, but not of the second largest (F2) or the third largest (F3) follicle, increased concomitantly with the raise of serum LH1,2). Even though the concentrations of LH were not significantly different among venous plasma of various sizes of follicles, only the venous plasma of F1 exhibited the preovulatory peak of

Regulation of interleukin-11 expression in ovulatory follicles of the rat ovary.

The aim of the present study was to examine the regulation of interleukin (IL)-11 expression, as well as the role of IL-11, during ovulation in gonadotropin-primed immature rats. Injection of equine chorionic gonadotropin (eCG), followed by human CG (hCG) to induce superovulation stimulated expression of the Il11 gene in theca cells within 6h, as revealed by northern blot and in situ hybridisat...

In Vitro Effect of Triiodothyronine on the Cyclic AMP, Progesterone and Testosterone Level in Porcine Theca, Granulosa and Luteal Cells.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the influence of thyroid hormone on steroid production and cAMP accumulation in porcine theca (Tc) and granulosa cells (Gc) isolated from preovulatory follicles as well as in luteal cells isolated during the mid-developing luteal phase. METHODS: Granulosa and theca cells separated from pig ovarian follicles and pieces of corpora lutea were cultured in the incubation me...

Gonadotropin-inhibitory hormone (GnIH) receptor gene is expressed in the chicken ovary: potential role of GnIH in follicular maturation.

Gonadotropin-inhibitory hormone (GnIH), an RFamide peptide, has been found to inhibit pituitary LH secretion in avian and mammalian species. The gene encoding a putative receptor for GnIH (GnIHR) was recently identified in the chicken and Japanese quail brain and pituitary gland. GnIHR appears to be a seven-transmembrane protein belonging to a family of G-protein-coupled receptors. In the prese...

Involvement of theca cells and steroids in the regulation of granulosa cell apoptosis in rabbit preovulatory follicles.

Follicular atresia is characterized by a rapid loss of granulosa cells and, to a lesser extent, theca cells, via apoptosis. The aim of this study was to investigate the possible involvement of theca cell secretions in the regulation of apoptosis of rabbit granulosa cells. The annexin-V binding method based on externalization of phosphatidylserine to the outer layer of plasma membrane during apo...

A Comparative study of synthetic carp GnRH and carp pituitary homogenate effects on in vitro steroidogenesis of oocytes in common carp (Cyprinus carpio)

Vitellogenic stage carp ovaries were collected aseptically and the cells of ovarian follicles were dispersed by trypsin treatment and cultivated as monolayer. Control cultures were grown in medium M199 alone. Media for experimental cultures were supplemented either with 100 µl ml-1 of CPH and CPS-carp GnRH (cultivated pituitary cell secretion affected by 10-6, 10-8, 10-10 M carp GnRH). The dire...
